Inthe Chorus celebrated its 25th anniversary and Silver Jubilee, with its first show of the year at Cadogan Hall for 'History' a retrospective of both the Chorus' own history and key events since it formed in London Gay Men's Chorus is a gay choir that was founded in by a group of nine gay men. InJohn created the Silver Jubilee committee and led the team to initiate the Silver Jubilee 25 goals for 25 years campaign. Hordes of police held back angry protestors throwing rocks and holy water. Martin supported community events and activities like London pride and Europride with floats and concerts over the 4 years, built strong social ties with joint events with other choirs and groups like Stonewall, Pride and Stonewall FC. The Christmas show Make Your Own Kind of Christmas was performed on 10—11 December at the Cadogan Hall with its trademark mix of fabulous pop hits and stunning classical pieces, all laced with a generous splash of festive spirit.
Inmusicologist Laurie Stras joined the ensemble as a co-director.

The final six choirs then sang for viewer votes over four weeks, with the choirs being eliminated one-by-one to find the last choir standing. A letter was written to choirmaster Gareth Malone looking for help and support with the choir; at that time he was receiving acclaim for his BBC te Myleene Klass Nick Knowles.
